Entry#1. 6 Strings

How can we express ourselves so that others can know who we are? Well, one way that I have been able to express myself is through learning guitar. When I play guitar, wether I am creating my own songs or playing others, I feel connected to my thoughts and am able to explore my emotions.

Aesthetic Guitar Wallpapers - Wallpaper Cave  I first began playing guitar a couple months ago when my cousin gave me her old one. I goofed off on it occasionally as casually became more interested and dedicated to practicing. Eventually I found myself learning for hours a day. I found it calming and like a form of meditation to just ignore the stress of my day and focus on my emotions. Not only did it help me understand how I was feeling it helped me outwardly display those feelings through playing guitar. Wether it was making my own chord progressions or playing other artists songs it felt calming to fully encapsulate a feeling I was going through. I learned that other people felt the same way and there were even studies and articles published about the effects of playing an instrument. Eventually, I turned to this instrument as a way to relieve stress and help me get through those long days. I think that music wether it be consuming or creating it can help drastically improve people's lives.

How Music Impacts Your Mood – The Spartan Shield

From first hand experience, I can stand by the fact that music can improve your mood and help you explore your emotions. Not only has it helped me explore interests, relieve stress, understand and display my emotions it has helped countless others too. Everyone has most likely experienced this in their everyday lives when we hear a song we enjoy. I would encourage everyone to use music as a form of meditation to help impact your life for the better.

  2. I recently started to play the bass guitar and have felt similar about that experience. I don't know if you had a similar experience, but I have noticed that my hand coordination has been improving. I could not tell if I was improving at first, but when I went back to songs that I felt were hard I could see the improvement.
