Entry #8 Christmas Chaos

Who else is a barista? As we head into the holiday season, many coffee places have introduced holiday drinks to get into the Christmas spirit. With an increase in volume due to people shopping and wanting to taste these drinks that they waited all year for, baristas have become overwhelmed with the amount of drinks, making it extremely hard to keep up with sales.
The Holidays are Back at Starbucks with Seasonal Sips and Festive Food
As a Starbucks partner, I have had to deal with the release of the new holiday drinks. As other baristas can tell you, the increased volume in sales is challenging to keep up with. Because of more customers visiting the site and a massive increase in mobile orders, it is challenging to fashion drinks promptly. Not only are there many more drinks to make, but the featured drinks are more complicated with extra steps, making it more challenging to make them. On top of that, as the weather gets colder, many people are switching to hot drinks. This introduces an extra step. Now, you have to steam milk, a time-consuming process that must be carefully done to produce good-quality milk.
Remember that the barista is likely dealing with a lot of stress when you order your drinks, so be patient.
